Many of the people our deployments reach are among the poorest and most in need on earth: refugees, displaced families, and households in communities without pharmacies or clinics. Islamic tradition especially cherishes charity whose benefit continues — sadaqah jariyah, the ongoing charity that keeps earning reward after the gift is made. Our model is unusually aligned with that idea: a reusable, drug-free device has no batteries, refills, or consumables, is shared within a household, and keeps relieving pain for years after a single gift.

Two Ways to Give With Intention
Sadaqah
Voluntary charity for the relief of suffering, given any time, in any amount. A sadaqah gift to Pain Relief International deploys reusable devices to people in severe need through ministries, NGOs, and community health workers — and because the devices endure, many donors consider it in the spirit of sadaqah jariyah. Zakat
Zakat is different, and we respect that: it carries specific obligations, defined categories of eligible recipients — foremost among them the poor and the needy — and rulings that vary by school of thought, including on how ownership must transfer. Many of the people our deployments serve fall squarely within those categories, but whether a gift to PRI fulfills your zakat is a question for your imam or scholar, not for us to declare.
What we can promise is how a designated zakat gift is handled: tell us the gift is zakat, and 100% of it is applied directly to devices deployed to people in severe need — no overhead, no administrative allocation — with reporting available on request.
